Cooco Means New Beginnings

A few years ago, I was running my own business in the US, feeling pretty settled and independent. Then I met my now-husband, who lives in Australia. We decided to make a big move, with me taking the leap and relocating halfway around the world to be with him. It was a thrilling adventure, but definitely a bit daunting!

If you’ve ever made a move to Australia on a spousal visa, you know the waiting game all too well. I had to wait a whole year before I could even start applying for jobs. The life I’d built in the US was behind me, and I had to get used to a new way of living—leaning more on my partner and adapting to a different financial situation. Even when I could finally start job hunting, finding the right opportunity wasn’t a walk in the park.

But here’s where things took an unexpected turn. With all that waiting, I decided to dive into something new. One of my new hobbies was perfecting my nail art. It might sound small, but nailing down that little skill turned out to be incredibly satisfying. It gave me a fresh perspective on the everyday challenges of self-care that many women face. Sometimes, it’s the smallest victories that bring the biggest smiles.

Alright, here’s the real deal: after a whole year of waiting to apply for jobs in Australia, I finally landed a big interview. I was excited to jump back into the workforce, but then came the blow—I didn’t have the skills they were looking for. It felt like a punch to the gut.

But here's where the story takes a turn. As I sat there grappling with my disappointment, a little spark of inspiration began to flicker: “What if I could turn this setback into something amazing?” What if I could use my love for problem-solving to create something that would help women feel fabulous every day? What if I could tackle a small but frustrating problem—nails that are beautiful, easy to change, and always ready to impress?

And so, Cooco was born. It’s funny how life can flip the script and lead you to something you never expected. I’ve always been someone who meticulously planned every step. But moving to Australia taught me that new beginnings can sting, but they’re temporary. They’re part of a bigger process that, if we trust it, will eventually lead us to something wonderful.

Through it all, I’ve learned that even when things seem tough and unpredictable, there’s a greater plan at work. Trusting in God and staying open to the journey has shown me that sometimes the best way to find your path is to embrace the ride with faith and a willingness to explore.

At Cooco, we’re all about celebrating those fresh starts and finding joy in the little things. So, whether you’re navigating a new chapter or just looking for a bit of sparkle in your day, we’re here to enjoy every step with you!

Hi, I'm Neri!

What is your favorite Cooco color and style?

Hmmm...This is hard cause I like all of them, but my favorite at the moment would be Dahlia and Sage!

What's your favorite thing about running your own business?

My favorite part is not having a boss (woohoo!) and being able to do what I love as I work.

What do you usually do when you're not working?

I usually just stay home and rest, but I also love playing tennis, trying new restaurants and cafes, doing pilates, and talking to my nephew and niece in my free time.
